  1. Allen Civic Ballet presents "The Nutcracker"

    The Allen Civic Ballet presents its 20th anniversary production of the 'Nutcracker' ballet. Follow Clara as she saves the life of her Nutcracker Prince and is transported through the Snow Queen's forest to the Kingdom of the Sweets, where she is placed upon the throne of by the Sugar Plum Fairy. Musical accompaniment provided by the Allen Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. Recommended for ages 8 and up. No babes in arms. All patrons regardless of age are required to have a ticket.

    December 16, 2018, 2:30 PM @ Watters Creek at Montgomery Farms

    The Allen Philharmonic presents Allen TUBACHRISTMAS. Conceived by tuba virtuoso Harvey Phillips to honor his teacher, the first Tuba Christmas was presented at Rockefeller Center in 1974. This unusual Christmas tradition is firmly established in over 200 cities around the world. Tuba players of all ages are welcome. Registration begins at noon at Blue House Too, located at 934 Watters Creek Drive. Rehearsal begins at 1 p.m. The cost to participants is $10 and music selections will come from CAROLS FOR A MERRY TUBACHRISTMAS. Songbooks will be available for purchase onsite if the performers do not already own a copy of the music. The musicians will be conducted by Jeff Baker, principal Tuba with the Allen Philharmonic. The community can watch musicians when they congregate on the Village Green in front of the Tree on Village Green Drive at 2:30 p.m., filling Watters Creek with the sound of low brass. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated, themed tubas.

He has help from a small demon, Bogle, and together they travel the timeless universe to improvise a ghostly plan to save Scrooge, and thus, themselves. Don't miss this very untraditional take on A Christmas Carol!
