Great American Cleanup 2019

Saturday, May 11, 2019

Spark joy in your home with the help of Allen’s biggest cleanup event. We pair your donations with organizations using them to help people all over the world!

Weather Update
Despite the rainy weather, the Great American Cleanup will proceed as scheduled.

NEW FOR 2019: Change to Accepted Items

To help improve traffic flow, bulk trash, metals and loose brush will not be accepted. Instead, schedule a convenient curbside pickup with CWD by calling 972.392.9300 (option 2).

See event flyer for full list of accepted and not accepted items.

Event Admission
The Great American Cleanup is open to all City of Allen water utility customers. To participate, you'll need:
  • A current City of Allen water utility bill
  • A drivers license with a name and address that matches the name/address on your utility bill
All vehicles must be in line by 12 p.m. to participate in the Great American Cleanup. A City of Allen vehicle with a lighted sign will enter the back of the line at 12 p.m. to signify the event is closed.

Getting Here
All traffic must enter the event from the south by turning on Century Parkway from Bethany Drive. No one is allowed to enter the event from McDermott Drive.

If you're only bringing electronics, cardboard and/or shredding, turn right on Butler Drive to enter Zone 2. If you have other items, proceed straight on Century Parkway to Zone 1, located in the City Hall parking lot. If you need to visit both zones, drop off donations and/or medications first. You'll get a fast pass to access Zone 2. When you arrive at the event, stay in your vehicle. Volunteers will help you unload.
