Beginning in the late evening and overnight hours of Wednesday, May 28, construction crews will install concrete traffic barriers along the southbound frontage road of US 75. Installation will continue southward over the three nights.
The operation will start south of McDermott Drive and continue to work southward. Since the installation of these barriers requires two lanes of traffic and will be installed at the edge of the existing roadway, temporary closures of ramps and frontage road (full width) will be required intermittently.
In order to lessen the impact to drivers, the following measures are being taken:
- The work will only be done at night.
- Message boards will be used to alert drivers in the event of ramp closures.
- Detour signs will be used to alert drivers in event of frontage road closures, directing local traffic onto public streets.
Traffic control and work is anticipated to begin about 8 p.m. each night, with complete ramp and frontage road closures to occur after 10 p.m.
The northbound installation of concrete traffic barriers along the US 75 frontage road will start next week.
