Due to severe weather conditions, the 2013 Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Rudolph Run and Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair have been canceled.
The 2013 Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will not be rescheduled. As weather permits, please view the beautiful Christmas Tree in Allen Civic Plaza behind Allen City Hall after it will be lit on Tuesday evening prior to City Council Meeting.
The 1-mile Fun Run and 5K planned for Saturday, December 7 would have been the 18th annual Rudolph Run event. Safety concerns for participants and crews as well as proper use of city resources are the city’s major priorities. The race will not be rescheduled. All of the participating Allen and Lovejoy ISD schools will still receive the planned donations from the City of Allen Parks and Recreation Department. Refunds cannot be issued.
All participants who registered through December 2 will still receive their race t-shirts. If participants have not already picked up their shirts, they will be available at Luke’s Locker – Allen (959 Garden Park Drive Suite T200 Allen, TX 75013) during regular store hours through 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 11. Shirts will be available at the Allen Parks and Recreation Administration Offices (301 Century Parkway Allen, TX 75013) December 12-31.
For participants who registered after December 2, although sizes cannot be guaranteed, shirts may still be available and can be picked at the Allen Parks and Recreation Administration Offices December 12-31.
Organizers of the Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair to be held at Joe Farmer Recreation Center are assessing whether or not the event can be rescheduled. Please refer to the Joe Farmer facility page or call 214.509.4750 for updates.
