[ARCHIVED] Severe Weather Notices for City Facilities and Events

Due to inclement weather, some city facilities and recreation centers may have adjusted hours and/or programming and planned events may be affected. Severe weather notices for facilities, services and storm response operations will be posted on the website and ACTV as quickly as possible.

As time and staffing allows, every effort will be made to post facility hours/closures and program cancellations on individual facility web pages. The City will also send email alert notices to COA E-Access subscribers (see link below to subscribe).

Please call the phone number listed under the facility contact information for questions before traveling to any city facility or recreation center.

Regarding the Annual Tree Lighting, a decision will be made and posted online by 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6 as to whether or not the event will be held. If ice or other dangerous conditions exist, the full event will be canceled. If canceled, it will not be rescheduled. If there is only rain, event performances and activities will be canceled (and will not be rescheduled); however, pictures with Santa will still be offered in the Community Room of the Parks and Recreation Building. Please refer to the Special Events Hotline at 214.509.4811 for additional information.

The Rudolph Run 1-mile Fun Run and 5K scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, will be held rain or shine. In the case of ice, sleet or other dangerous conditions, a decision will be made by 7 a.m. on race morning as to whether or not the race will be held. If the race is canceled, it will not be rescheduled. Refunds will not be made in the case of inclement weather cancellations. Please refer to the Special Events Hotline at 214.509.4811 for additional information.
