OCT. 11, 2022 - City Councilmembers approved a partnership agreement with grocery store chain HEB to expand the intersection of Exchange Parkway and Greenville Avenue.

Anticipating traffic growth in the area due to the new store and future area growth, the City of Allen proposed a cost-sharing partnership with HEB to build additional turn lanes at the Greenville Avenue and Exchange Parkway intersection.

Planned intersection improvements include:

  • An additional southbound left-turn lane on Greenville Avenue at Exchange Parkway (required by ordinance)
  • An additional northbound left-turn lane for Greenville Avenue at Exchange Parkway
  • An additional southbound right-turn lane for Greenville Avenue at Exchange Parkway

This intersection work is anticipated to be completed prior to the opening of the HEB store late summer 2023.
