Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd was honored at the Jan. 11 City Council Meeting and received the Mayor’s Distinguished Service Award. Mayor Fulk thanked Chief Boyd for his essential role in successfully setting up the Allen Fire Department’s vaccination hub. Chief Boyd was initially supposed to receive the award at the Board Appreciation Dinner on Dec. 3, but in true first-responder fashion, Chief Boyd was called to duty right before being recognized.

“I think it goes without saying that there’s a big, big team behind this effort, and I accept this award on behalf of them,” said Chief Boyd. “This is a very easy community to serve because it’s very rewarding.”
