Beginning Oct. 1, City of Allen solid waste customers can dispose of more items on their assigned bulky item collection day — no need to call ahead to schedule!
Allen City Council approved the these service improvements at the Sept. 29 meeting. City of Allen will cover the additional disposal cost so customers will not see a rate increase. Collection schedules remain the same; however, customers may now dispose of more items (up to 6 cubic yards, approximately the size of six washing machines placed side by side) on their assigned Saturday.
What is considered bulky waste?
Bulky waste is intended for items too big to fit inside your trash bin. However, not all large items are accepted by CWD. Find information on do-it-yourself disposal options and paid special collections at CityofAllen.org/BulkWaste.
When can I dispose of bulky waste?
CWD will collect bulky items on your street on the same Saturday each month. Your bulky item day is based on your trash day. You don’t have to call to schedule a pickup; simply bring items to your collection point! Find my collection day.
Collection begins promptly at 7 a.m. Exact collection times will vary. All items should be taken to your collection point between 6 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday on your assigned collection day. Code violations may occur for items placed out too early.
