MARCH 29, 2021 - For the twentieth consecutive year, the City of Allen has earned top marks for its efforts to save money and make ethical choices in its purchasing processes.
The Purchasing Division is responsible for acquiring goods and services that are needed to keep city departments operating efficiently and effectively. This past fiscal year, the bid process saved the City of Allen more than $9.6 million dollars.
Members of the Purchasing Division presented Allen City Councilmembers with the 2020 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award during the March 23 meeting.
Allen is among only 69 cities in the U.S. and Canada to receive the National Procurement Institute recognition for 2020. The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award is earned by organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on standardized criteria designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes of the procurement organization.
