[ARCHIVED] Allen Police welcomes three new officers

Welcome Officer John Barrington, Officer William Brindza and Officer Chris Zeltner to the Allen Police Department team!

Meet the officers

Officer Barrington grew up in Minnesota. He has an Associates in Criminal Justice and EMT Training. John spent several years as a Loss Prevention Manager for Target, investigating overnight burglaries. In May 2018, Officer Barrington moved to Texas and was hired by the Gainesville Police Department. He graduated Denton BPOC and spent the last few years working in Patrol and training in identifying recovered stolen commercial vehicles and VIN swapped trailers that are involved with highway interdiction operations. Officer Barrington joined Allen Police Department in 2021 and looks forward to a career serving the residents of Allen.  

Officer Brindza was raised in Portland, Oregon. He attended Sherwood High School, Lower Columbia Community College and the University of the Pacific on baseball scholarships. In 2007 William was hired as an Oregon State Trooper. He worked in Patrol, SWAT, and the mobile response team. William also served as a major crimes detective, a Field Training Officer and a defensive tactics instructor. He and his family enjoy outdoor activities as well as staying healthy and fit. They used to own and run an Crossfit gym. Officer Brindza is excited to continue his law enforcement service with Allen Police Department and the City of Allen. 

Officer Zeltner was born and raised in southern California. He comes to APD with 12 years of law enforcement experience. Chris began his career in 2008 with the San Diego Police Department and then transferred to the Murrieta Police Department. His experience includes SWAT, K-9 Unit, and certification as a DARE Instructor. In the last few years, Officer Zeltner worked as a Narcotics Detective and Task Force Officer with the DEA. Officer Zeltner and his family enjoy the outdoors camping, fishing and traveling. They are excited to be a part of the Allen Police Department as well as the north Texas community.
