Allen’s water supply is keeping up with present demand and remains safe to drink. No boil water notice has been issued for the City of Allen. Through the weekend, Allen residents are encouraged to:
- Remain vigilant in watching for leaks, and be prepared to act immediately to stop water loss. If you do not have tools to stop a leak yourself, call Allen’s 24-hour water/sewer emergency hotline at 214.509.4530 so a City crew can shut off water to your home.
- Stop dripping your faucets as temperatures rise. Dripping faucets contributes to the strain on our water system. Residents are encouraged to stop dripping faucets as soon as they are comfortable that temperatures are above where a risk of broken pipes is a consideration.
- Use only enough water to meet your essential needs. The strain on our water supply caused by burst pipes and dripping faucets should level off by Saturday evening. Until then, please limit your water use to essential needs only: drinking, cooking, short showers and flushing toilets.
