Allen voters selected two councilmembers and voted in favor of a term limits proposition in the election held Saturday, May 4.
According to the elections summary report prepared by Collin County, Chris Schulmeister received 51.68% of the vote for Councilmember Place 4, winning in a 267-vote margin over Melanie Hughes. Councilmember Baine Brooks (incumbent) received 71.5% of the vote against Jon Toney for Councilmember Place 6.
Allen voters also approved a proposition to limit the number of both consecutive and total years one may serve on Allen City Council. Of 60,476 registered Allen votes, 8,779 (14.5%) cast ballots in the May 4 General and Special Election.
