Allen Public Library is celebrating National Library Week April 8-12 with themed fun all week long! Patrons are encouraged to dress for each day's theme and enjoy the special activities throughout the week! Allen Public Library staff will be joining in the fun as well, so be on the lookout!
- Monday, April 8: Memory Monday - Stop by the Library and share your favorite memory with us or post to the Library's social media pages! Show off your City of Allen pride by donning city colors - red, white, or blue!
- Tuesday, April 9: Tasty Tuesday - Find delicious treats at our service desks today and let us know what your favorite is with food-themed clothing or accessories. Might we suggest a hot dog suit?
- Wednesday, April 10: Wacky Wednesday - Pull out the craziest socks your own and walk them on over to the Library! We'll have chalk drawing in the Courtyard for all ages to enjoy!
- Thursday, April 11: Throwback Thursday - Embrace the throwback by dressing for the decades! Got a zoot suit to show off? We want to see it! Or maybe the 80's are more your thing? We wanna see that, too! Stop by the Library and throw it back to childhood with coloring sheets available at our service desks for simple, relaxing fun.
- Friday, April 12: Favorite Friday - Let us appreciate your awesome taste in books by dressing as your favorite book character or wearing a literary shirt or accessory! We'll have a scavenger hunt (for all ages - grown-ups like treasure hunting, too) of some of our favorite book characters all day long.
