New speed limit signs will soon be installed along US 75 frontage roads and a portion of Chaparral Road.
Speed limits will change along several segments of the US 75 frontage road through Allen. View map. The changes were proposed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) following a speed study.
In a separate traffic evaluation on Chaparral Road, City of Allen engineering staff recommended a speed limit of 40 mph between Malone Road and Angel Parkway (FM 2551), where no speed limit signs existed before.
Allen City Council approved both speed limit changes during the Oct. 24 meeting.
