[ARCHIVED] Stop for the School Bus...Cameras Soon on Board

It's one of the simplest rules of the road: If you see stop sign, STOP!

This is especially important when that sign is attached to the side of a school bus and the sign is blocking your view of children about to cross the street from in front of the bus.

Soon, the Allen Independent School districts will be installing new automated cameras to the sides of buses. This will make it easier for school systems and police departments to crack down on violators while allowing bus drivers to better focus on the task at hand; protecting our children’s safety.

Here’s a tip - If you don’t want to be stuck behind a school bus during drop-off and pick-up times, leave five minutes earlier to avoid this problem. Please help keep our children safe.
