Strong schools and plentiful jobs helped earn Allen a spot in a new top 10 list.
Allen ranked #6 in Nerdwallet’s assessment of Best Cities for First-Time Homebuyers. The site analyzed data from the U.S. Census Bureau, NeighborhoodScout and Down Payment Resource to determine cities with the trifecta of livability, affordability and price stability.
“The cities that did make the list revealed there may be a sweet spot for population when it comes to the top places for first-time buyers,” notes the survey. Five of the top 10 cities have populations between 83,000 and 89,000. Allen’s population is 96,000.
