For years, Allen Parks and Recreation has published an activities guide, called STUFF, three times annually. As the city has grown, STUFF became dated and didn't fully communicate all that Allen Parks and Recreation has to offer. So, Allen is leaving STUFF behind and moving on with LIFE, a new activities guide that provides a complete picture of the programs, events, parks, trails and recreation facilities in Allen.
LIFE, which stands for "Learning, Interests, Fitness, Events," is meant to serve as a roadmap for experiencing life in Allen. The guide has information about programs, classes and events at all of the Allen Parks and Recreation facilities, including Allen Community Ice Rink, Allen Senior Recreation Center, Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium, Joe Farmer Recreation Center, The Courses at Watters Creek and The Edge Skate Park and Visitor Center.
Still being published three times a year (Winter/Spring, Summer and Fall), the LIFE guide's updated layout and structure makes finding programs by facility and age group easier. In the center of the guide, there's a new map that shows where all of Allen's parks, trails and recreation facilities are located. Also, the guide includes more details about each of the facilities, such as how many feet comprise the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium leisure pool (hint: it's a lot!) and how to reserve a recreation facility for events like birthday parties.
