A zoning change has paved the way for a new senior living facility on the northwest corner of Main Street and Fountain Gate Drive.
Fountain Gate Senior Living will offer 92 independent residential units divided among 13 single-story buildings. The property will also feature a clubhouse and amenity center, walking trails, putting greens, picnic areas, gardens and a dog park.
To live in Fountain Gate, residents must be age 55 or older. The smallest unit will offer 699 sq. ft. of living space.
The property, which sat vacant for decades, was previously zoned for a shopping center. City council members voted unanimously to change the zoning and adopt the concept plan, development regulations, landscape plan and building elevations during the July 12 council meeting.
