Find a new home for old sweaters, sneakers, stereos and more during Allen Recycles Day on Saturday, Nov. 7. This community recycling event partners with local organizations to collect unused items from residents.
Accepted items include:
• Household items
• Clothing and accessories
• Prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses, reading glasses and frames
• Cardboard
• Durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, hospital beds, shower chairs, canes)
• Books, CDs, DVDs, books on tape
• Gently-used bikes, tricycles and bicycle accessories
• Gently-worn adult athletic shoes, children’s shoes and sports cleats
• Televisions, computer towers, laptops, cell phones, radios, printers, copy and fax machines, video game systems, ink cartridges and computer accessories
The event will also offer on-site shredding of personal documents.
Electronic equipment (televisions, computers, cell phones, etc.) will be collected at the Municipal Service Center (900 S. Greenville Avenue). All other items will be collected at Allen City Hall (305 Century Parkway).
