AllenUSA.org earned the title of Best Event Website at the Texas Festivals & Events Association annual conference. The website also won second place for Best Mobile Site.
The website was created by Parks & Recreation marketing coordinator Michele Loftus. By creating the website in-house, the city saved thousands of dollars in design fees.
“People have so many options and so much to choose from these days for where they spend their time and give their attention; in order to be successful you have to engage people in unique ways," said Tim Dentler, Parks & Recreation Director. "It’s all about the full experience. We try to create exceptional experiences during Market Street Allen USA, and the new design exemplifies exactly that. The website starts the experience and communicates so well the what they’ll see at the event.”
Allen USA celebrated its twentieth year in 2015. The annual community celebration and fireworks show drew a crowd of 87,500.
