Hammeke also worked on bond projects for numerous City facilities, including the Allen Public Library, Allen Senior Recreation Center, the Prestige water tower and the Custer Road pumping and storage station. He also provided oversight to Municipal Court as it converted to online payments and document imaging.

“Kevin is an outstanding CFO who combines great work ethic with great financial experience,” said City Manager Peter Vargas. “His expertise and commitment to customer service have been a tremendous boon to the City of Allen during a period of unprecedented growth.”

Prior to joining the City of Allen, Hammeke spent 24 years with the City of Olathe, Kan., and two years with the Unified School District #500 in Kansas City, Kan. He is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas, Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, Treasury Management Association and Allen Sunrise Rotary Club. He and his wife Laurie have two children, Erin and Derek.

Allen residents are invited to join Hammeke’s friends, family and coworkers as the City celebrates his successful career. The retirement reception will be held Wed., May 13 at 4:45 p.m. at the Allen Senior Recreation Center.
