Allen City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2014-15 Budget. The budget, which goes into effect October 1, is $184 million and includes a 4.67% increase in revenue. Part of the increase in revenue comes from a 9.43% increase in appraisal values for existing homes, new developments and commercial property. Council also approved a reduction in the property tax rate from .55 to 54 cents per $100 of taxable value. The new budget includes an additional 18.87 full-time equivalent employees while maintaining staff-to-resident ratio that is the lowest the City has employed in years.
