The Allen Police Department (APD) in cooperation with the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) will host its eleventh National Drug Take Back Initiative (NTBI) on Saturday, September 27. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be held in the south parking lot of the Lowrey Freshman Center, 601 E. Main Street, 75002.
The APD is again partnering with the Allen Independent School District (ASID), Texas Health Resources, Presbyterian Hospital of Allen, and other departments within the City of Allen to collect expired pharmaceuticals, over the counter drugs, other drugs and vitamins. The pharmaceuticals will be delivered to the DEA and they will destroy them. Texas Health Resources will take and dispose of the sharps.
There will only be one take back site this fall - please help spread the word. This program protects our landfills and water systems.
