Art Extravaganza

Open to ages 6-18.
Submit artwork to a family-friendly juried competition. Artwork will be displayed in an art exhibit, giving the community a chance to observe art produced by talented artists like YOU!

Two pieces of art per artist limit. Submissions accepted March 9-16 in person at Joe Farmer Recreation Center (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.). You can sign up online and pick up an entry packet at Joe Farmer Recreation Center. Guidelines from the entry packet are also listed below.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
  • Maximum size is 18”x24” with or without a frame. 3-D artwork must fit inside a 18”x24” box.
  • Age Categories: 6 years; 7 to 9 years; 10 to 12 years; 13 to 15 years; 16to 18 years
Artwork must be matted and framed. Frame pieces must be wired for hanging. Unframed canvas must be gallery presentable (sides painted). Only original artwork will be judged. No copyrighted material or artwork submitted for judging in prior years will be accepted. No digital artwork or adult themes will be accepted.

JUDGING CRITERIA
A professional visual artist/instructor will be judging all submitted artwork. Judging will take place on Thursday, March 18 and will be based on the following criteria: Application and Technique, Execution, Design and Competition, Creativity.

AWARDS
  • “Best in show” will receive a trophy and purchase award. Each age category will receive ribbons and purchase awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
  • The 6-year-old category will receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons (no purchase awards)
  • All other age categories will receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons with purchase awards
  • Honorable mention ribbons will be awarded where merited (no purchase awards)
