OnStage @ APL presents Fiddlinda & Friends: An Evening of Celtic Music

Friday, March 15, 2024

Celebrate the enchanting music of the Celtic tradition with Fiddlinda & Friends. With a repertoire including ancient laments, contemporary ballads, traditional Irish tunes, Scottish Gaelic folksongs, and more, you’ll be in for an evening of high-spirited entertainment.

The accomplished Linda Relph has been playing the fiddle since she was 10 years old and has been a part of the Texas Irish music scene ever since. She was the California State Laddies Fiddle Champion for four years, founded the Celtic Rock band The Killdares, and established the Greengrass genre with her Irish bluegrass band Nine 8ths Irish and has played eith several Geroge Strait Tribute Bands.

Toar Schell has been a mainstay of the Traditional Irish music community for over 25 years and described himself as a semi-competent banjo player. He plays the mandolin, fiddle and banjo.

Candy Schell plays fiddle, mandolin, bodhran and button accordion. She is a regular at the local DFW sessions and is almost always at J. Gilligan’s sessions on Tuesday nights in Arlington, TX. She is also a member of the TIMES Band & Session Players.

Matt Cook started his Irish Trad music journey around campfires, singing the songs of days long past. As the years have gone by, more instruments have been added, and even more songs and tunes have snuck into his repertoire.

Can’t be there in person? The program will be streamed live on ACTV. For online, cable channel, and streaming app options, view the Watch ACTV page or use the live streaming link provided in the sidebar.

The library is located at 300 N. Allen Dr. Call 214-509-4911 for additional information.
