APL Children's Take & Make Kits

Full Description

Take & Make Kits require pre-registration online and are available while supplies last. Registration opens one week in advance. You must register online for each kit separately for each child.

Kits can be picked up through curbside pickup or at the Children's Desk during open hours on the dates listed under each kit. If you choose to pick up your kit on Saturday, it will only be available through curbside pickup (11 a.m. - 4 p.m.). Please call the Children's Desk at 214.509.4906 or the Information Desk at 214.509.4913 to schedule you kit pickup.

When registering for Take & Make Kits, please note the following:
- Confirm that the kit is for your child's age. Kits have designated ages based on their respective difficulty and the developmental ability required to complete the activity.
- Duplicate registrations with the same child's name and age will be deleted.
- Pickup will be available during the date range in each kit's description. Kits unclaimed after the scheduled pickup week will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Water Play
For grades K - 3.
Pick up Monday, March 1 - Saturday, March 6
Make watercolor art, float a boat, throw water balloons and more with these fun water based crafts and activities. Warning you will get wet and have a blast. 
Fool Your Friends Puzzle Kit
For grades 4 - 6. 
Pick up Monday, March 15 - Saturday, March 20
Create mind-bending puzzles to fool your friends! Then take a crack at solving a few yourself. Enjoy spatial puzzles, rope puzzles, puzzle cubes and more!
First Chapter Read Aloud 
For grades K - 3. 
Pick up Monday, March 29 - Saturday, April 3
Join us on Facebook as we read aloud the first chapter of Mia Mayhem is a Superhero by Kara West. The video will be available beginning Monday, March 29 at 11 a.m. Be sure to register for your kit to make your own superhero mask and other super activities.

Springtime Fuse Beads
For grades 4-6.
Pick up Monday, March 29 – Saturday, April 3
Create a bee, butterfly or flower out of fuse beads! These beads melt together when ironed to create an amazing image. Extra beads included to make your own designs. You supply the iron.

Mini Bank
For grades K-3.
Pick up Monday, April 12 – Saturday, April 17
Paint your own bank to start saving! Each kit includes a wooden cube bank, acrylic paint and a paintbrush.

National Poetry Month Kit
For grades 4-6.
Pick up Monday, April 19 – Saturday, April 24
Cut up old magazines and use them to create magnet poetry. Next, mark out old book pages to create blackout poetry.

Cosmic Crafts
For grades K-3.
Pick up Monday, April 26 – Saturday, May 1
Create gemstone mosaic art, pony bead constellations and more cosmic crafts.
