Education and outreach initiatives are key to the objectives of Keep Allen Beautiful (KAB). KAB produces an annual Education & Outreach Guide to highlight programs, presentations and field trips offered by the City of Allen and local partners.

Recycled Art Contest

This annual competition for Allen ISD students is held in conjunction with Allen Recycles Day. The contest is open to K - 12 grades. Students must submit their entries to their school no later than October 24 to be judged at the school level.  The top 3 entries per grade will be forwarded to compete at the City level.  Overall winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony at Allen City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, as part of the annual Allen Recycles Day event in November.

Arbor Day Poster Contest

This contest challenges 4th and 5th grade students to design and create informational posters according to the theme and utilizing the Activity Guide and the Rubric.  The current theme is: "Trees are Terrific...and Forests are too!"   Keep Allen Beautiful judges the posters. Winners are recognized at an Allen City Council meeting in February. The first place winner receives recognition at his/her school and a tree planted in their honor.  Posters are due by or before January 26, 2018.  2017/2018 Information:

Reuse-a-Shoe Contest

Keep Allen Beautiful and The Shoe Bank host this contest every spring. Allen ISD schools (K-12) compete to donate the most new or gently-used shoes to the shoe bank. The school collecting the most pairs per student wins the grand prize.

Advanced Scout Projects

Scouts interested in developing projects for their Eagle Project or Order of the Arrow service work may reference the Guidelines for Advanced Scout Projects.
