Brian E. Harvey is the Chief of Police for the City of Allen Police Department. He was sworn in on February 7, 2012. Harvey is a retired Deputy Police Chief with the Dallas Police Department and has over 30 years of law enforcement experience.
Responsibilities The Office of the Chief of Police handles strategic planning, budget planning, day-to-day law enforcement agency operations, special guest appearances, department hiring and separations, payroll, and more. It also provides direct oversight for Internal Affairs, Community Relations, and the Chaplaincy Program.
Command Structure The police department employs three deputy chiefs with oversight of specific divisions: Support Services, Patrol Services, and Criminal Investigations. By expanding and changing its command structure, the Police Department has kept pace with the continued growth of Allen.
