Report child abuse
Suspected child abuse should be reported to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services at 800.252.5400. This toll-free hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you feel a situation is a life-threatening emergency, please call 911. The Texas DFPS works with local agencies to investigate reports of alleged abuse.
Allen Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division participates in the Child Abuse Task Force by funding a child abuse investigator who works out of the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center in Plano.
Crime Victim Advocate
The Crime Victim Advocate works with victims of crime to help restore their physical, mental and emotional health. This includes assistance with Crime Victim's Compensation paperwork, court attendance with victims, referrals for crisis counseling and other social services. The Crime Victim Advocate works closely with investigators to help the victim navigate the criminal justice system.
