Jon Boyd became Allen's Fire Chief in August 2018. He served as the department's Assistant Chief of Operations since 2012 and brings extensive education and experience of the department into his role.
Chief Boyd has more than 20 years of experience in fire operations and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from The University of Texas at Dallas.
Richard Vaughn leads the Support Services Division including research, procurement and maintenance of the department's facilities, apparatus, supplies and equipment.
Assistant Chief Vaughn has more than 20 years of experience with Allen Fire Department and holds degrees in emergency medicine and fire department management.
David Cannaday leads the Prevention Division. The division issues permits, conducts hazard inspections, prepares for large-scale emergencies and provides educational resources.
Assistant Chief Cannaday holds a Masters Degree in Executive Fire Leadership from Grand Canyon University and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer program.
Greg Grimes leads the Operations Division, with management and coordination of the department’s public education, training and emergency response.
With more than 25 years of experience in firefighting, Assistant Chief Grimes holds a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and has a Master of Science degree in the same field.
