Eggcellent Family Adventure

The 2018 Eggcellent Family Adventure will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 24 at Allen Civic Plaza (301 Century Parkway, Allen, TX 75013). FREE to attend.

Allen is home to several springtime traditions created by the Parks and Recreation Department. One event in particular has evolved over the years to become a true hometown favorite — the Eggcellent Family Adventure.

Originally developed to be the City of Allen’s egg hunt, in 2008 the event was re-branded as the Eggcellent Family Adventure, and Allen Civic Plaza (adjacent to City Hall) was chosen for the festivities.

The unique event features the Easter version of “trick-or-treating." Tables are hosted by local community organizations and businesses. Children visit each table and collect eggs filled with goodies as well as valuable information and offers from the participating organizations. There are also opportunities for children to get pictures with the Easter Bunny, create crafts, play games, jump in a bounce house and get their faces painted!

Make sure to bring your biggest basket to collect all of the freebies given away throughout this free event.

Eggcellent Eggdrop Presented By Chick-fil-A Allen

New at this year's Eggcellent Family Adventure will be a competition called the Eggcellent Eggdrop presented by Chick-fil-A Allen, where individuals and teams will be given materials such as straws, tape and cardboard to build a structure to prevent a raw egg from breaking from a 10+ foot drop.

Though Eggcellent Family Adventure is free to attend, the eggdrop competition has a $10 supply fee per individual or team.

All ages are welcome to participate in this fun, STEAM competition, but spots are limited. Online registration is now available, and for additional information please contact Anna-Marie Underwood at or by phone at 214.509.4707.
