American Red Cross education and certification classes are offered year round at Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium. Some classes may have pre-requisites that must be met in order to continue in the class. For questions about training or employment please call 214.509.4770.

American Red Cross CPR & First Aid


This course will teach American Red Cross adult, child and infant CPR, as well as first aid and AED. Participants receive a certification upon successful completion through email. Minimum age 12.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Class


Improve your water safety knowledge by taking an American Red Cross lifeguard class. Class includes CPR/AED/First-Aid training. Pre-requisite: 300-meter swim, retrieval of a brick in 7-10ft of water and two minutes of treading water. Minimum age 15.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Review


This course will re-certify individuals in American Red Cross lifeguarding, blood borne pathogens training, emergency oxygen, CPR, first aid, AED. Participants must bring an American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate within 30 days of the expiration date to complete the training. Participants will receive a certification upon successful completion through email.

Water Safety Instructor Certification Class
This course trains participants to teach swimming lessons through the American Red Cross with a focus on critiquing and evaluating a student’s progress. Participants will receive a certificate via email upon successful completion of the course. Minimum age 16.
