Ben Trahan
Councilmember Place No. 6 (Term 2022-2025)
Councilmember Ben Trahan believes transparency and common-sense management are keys to Allen’s future. Maintaining the City’s future and preserving its unique character are core to his service as a Councilmember.
Ben’s 24 years of banking experience and long history of volunteer service give him the insight and understanding that guide his decision-making as a leader in the Allen community.
Ben’s volunteer service includes a wide breadth of organizations and topics. He currently serves on Collin College’s Banking and Financial Services Advisory Committee (2019-present), as a volunteer deputy registrar for Collin County (2019-present) and was a board member for Foundation for Allen Schools (2012-2018), Kiwanis International (2009-2014), Allen Community Outreach (2014-2015), Allen Public Safety Recovery Fund (2013-2015) and Tulane University Collin County Alumni Club (2016-2022).
In addition, he volunteers with Allen Citizen Police Academy and was a member of Allen’s 2020 Census Complete Count Committee and Leadership Allen’s 25th class.
His foundation of knowledge on leadership and management was built with associate’s and bachelor’s degrees from Tulane University, completion of Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking program and a Master of Science in Management from Texas A&M Commerce.
Ben and his wife, Kristine, are proud parents of three children, who currently attend school in Allen Independent School District.
