Carl Clemencich
Councilmember Place No. 2 (Term 2020-2023)
Carl Clemencich has a long history of volunteering in the Allen community. He appreciates Allen’s community spirit and believes its parks, schools and city facilities make it a wonderful place to live, work and play.
Clemencich was elected to Allen City Council in 2017 and reelected in 2020. Since his election, he has served on the Council Nominating Committee (2017-present), Council Finance/Audit Committee (2017-present), and as the council liaison to the Board of Adjustment, Building and Standards Commission and Sign Control Board (2017-present), Parks and Recreation Board (2018-present) and as a board member on the Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board (2018-present).
Clemencich was appointed to the Allen Community Development Board in 1996, followed by the Allen Parks and Recreation Board (2000-2004) and Allen Economic Development Board (2004-2012). In 2012, he joined the Allen Independent School District Board as a Trustee, where he served until his election to City Council.
In addition to his service on city and school boards, Clemencich volunteers with the Allen Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT), Allen Police Department Citizens on Patrol and Habitat for Humanity. He has also participated in the Allen Citizens Fire Academy, Citizens Police Academy and Collin County Sheriff’s Office Citizen Academy.
Clemencich is a certified public accountant (CPA) with over 30 years’ experience in finance and corporate accounting. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in accounting and an M.B.A. in corporate finance. He and his wife, Laurie, have been married for over 30 years; they have five children and four grandchildren. They are members of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Allen.
