Mary Vail-Grube

Councilmember Place No. 1

(Interim Term: Nov. 14, 2023 - May 2024)

Councilmember Mary Vail-Grube brings over 30 years of leadership and community service experience with her to Allen City Council.

As a long-time Allen resident, Vail-Grube is honored to serve on City Council in an interim capacity. She is committed to working closely with the mayor, fellow councilmembers and city staff, listening to the interests and needs of the community, and using her knowledge of Allen and experience in local government administration to contribute to the ongoing positive momentum of our City.

Prior to her appointment to Council in November 2023, Vail-Grube served on the 2023 City of Allen Bond Steering Committee, the City of Allen Downtown Steering Committee (2021-2022) and the Capital Improvement Program Steering Committee (2015-2016).

In addition to her experience on City Committees, Vail-Grube was a founding member of the Collin County Martin Luther King Appreciation Service and was Co-Chair in 2021. She currently serves with Empty Bowls McKinney and the Community Garden Kitchen.

Vail-Grube holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and public relations from Illinois State University, an M.P.A. in public administration from Northern Illinois University and a graduate certificate in dispute resolution and conflict management from Southern Methodist University. Throughout her professional career Vail-Grube has worked in local government and non-profit administration in Illinois, California and North Texas.
