Citizens Fire Academy

Citizens Fire Academy is an eight-week program (10 classes) that gives residents an opportunity to learn more about how the Allen Fire Department operates and is organized. The Academy takes place each spring. 

Participants experience:
  • Demonstrations of emergency operations
  • Fire and life safety training
  • Riding along with on-duty firefighters on emergency calls
Completion of the Citizens Fire Academy provides an in-depth understanding of the department, but is not to be confused with a fire service training academy for future career firefighters.

How to apply 


Participants must be at least age 18 and either live or work in the city of Allen. Download an application.
