Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Overview
The Community Development Block Grant (C.D.B.G.) is a federally funded, formula-based grant that is allocated by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (H.U.D.) to cities with populations greater than 50,000. It's purpose is to address the housing and community development needs in low-income communities through three national objectives:
- Benefiting low-to-moderate income persons
- Eliminating, or preventing, slum or blight
- Meeting an urgent need
Annual Action Plan
The city completes an Annual Action Plan, which determines the programs and activities to be executed each year under the Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan. The Annual Action Plan is also the foundation for assessing the city’s performance of the C.D.B.G. program in the CAPER report.
2012-2013 Annual Action Plan
The City of Allen seeks input for the
2012 - 2013 Annual Action Plan for community development needs. The Annual Action Plan reflects activities to be accomplished using funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant program for the fiscal year October 1, 2012 – September 30, 2013.
