Residents are reminded to pay close attention to the weather and to take shelter if necessary. The city does not have designated storm shelters for public use.
The City of Allen’s outdoor warning siren system consists of 13 sirens placed strategically throughout the city as a warning device to alert citizens outdoors of imminent severe weather.
Allen Parks and Recreation will host a public meeting on Wednesday, May 22, to discuss the development of artificial turf sports fields at Allen Station Park. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Curtis Middle School field bleachers.
SH 5 will be closed at the DART railroad crossing in Fairview beginning on May 21. The closure is planned to be at least six months.
The second floor of the Allen Public Library will be closed from May 18 through May 28 for new carpet installation
Stage 3 water restrictions will be implemented June 1. Once weekly watering will be required. Stage 3 restrictions will be posted May 31. All water utility account holders will receive an informational flyer and a water schedule map in June.
