SWAT Unit

The Allen Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics team is prepared to respond to crisis situations at a moment's notice. The unit is comprised of specially trained police officers who are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The team is prepared to respond to situations involving high-risk warrant service, armed or barricaded subjects, hostage situations, and suicidal subjects. The goal of the team is to ensure the safety of all individuals and successfully resolve each situation. In 2008, the SWAT team trained 12 days and deployed 11 days.

The SWAT team is commanded by Lieutenant L. C. Dodson. The team leader is Investigator Bob Seklecki. The team is comprised of officers from all ranks and units of the Allen Police Department.
