Support Services

Deputy Chief Mike Stephens commands the Support Services Division for the Allen Police Department. The Support Services Division runs the “behind the scenes” aspects of the agency.

This division includes a team of experienced and knowledgeable personnel to accomplish a variety of daily functions. The division consists of the School Resource Officer Unit, Vehicle Service Unit, the Communications/Dispatch Unit, Jail and Animal Control Operations, Training Unit, and the Records Unit. Another area of oversight for this division includes the Property and Evidence Unit.

The Records Unit of the Division provides copies of accident reports and issues solicitor permits. For information, call 214.509.4350.

The Animal Control Unit addresses issues related to domestic animals, wildlife, and livestock. This unit operates the Allen Animal Shelter. For information, call 214.509.4378.

The Support Services Division operates the jail for holding individuals with Class C Misdemeanors. Persons wishing to visit a prisoner or to pay a prisoner’s fine or bond must inquire at the front desk at the Allen Police Station. Visitation hours are 9 to 11 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. daily.
