
Batter, Batter SWING!...but not for the fences! Work on placement hitting and defensive skills in the Line Drive Softball Tournament. The Allen Parks and Recreation Department offers sports leagues in Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, softball, volleyball, basketball and flag football. Minimum age required to participate in the league is 15, 17 for soccer. If you are looking to pick up a player for your team or would like to form a team, go to www.sportsstandings.com/allen and click on “Files Download” to view the “Free Agent” list. If you are an individual that wants to be added to the list please email your information (as outlined on the list) to Cheddrick McKee and it will be added to the free agent list. Ultimate Frisbee leagues are offered three times per year: fall/winter, spring and summer. Fall 2010 registration runs 7/5 – 8/11 with a team entry fee of $195. Late registration runs 8/12 – 8/17 with a team entry fee of $210. Seven game season plus play-offs. Season play begins 8/26. Slow-pitch softball leagues are offered three seasons per year: fall/winter, spring and summer. Fall 2010 registration runs 7/5 – 8/3 with a team entry fee of $345. Late registration takes place 8/4 – 8/8 with a team entry fee is $360. Eight game season plus playoffs. Summer season play begins June 7. Co-Rec indoor 6-on-6 volleyball leagues are offered three seasons per year: fall/winter, spring and summer. Fall registration runs 8/16 – 9/14 with a team entry fee of $235. Late registration runs 9/15 – 9/29 with a team entry fee is $250. Eight game season plus single elimination tournament. Season play begins 10/4. Leagues are played at various AISD school gyms. Full court, 5-on-5, adult basketball leagues are offered three times per year: fall/winter, spring and summer. Fall 2010 registration runs 8/16 – 9/14 with a team entry fee of $425. Late registration runs 9/15 – 9/19 with a team entry fee is $440. Eight game season plus single elimination tournament. Season play begins 10/5. League play is governed by NCAA rules.
