Reading Club

From June 7 through July 24, children of all ages can stop by the Allen Public Library and pick up a reading log or register online from your own home. All logs must be returned to the library by July 31 in order for children to claim their prize. Children are encouraged to read whatever interests them and the Children's staff are happy to make recommendations.

Read to Me

Story Times

We offer many story time sessions during the summer. These are free and do not require registration. Story times are 30 minute sessions offered in the Children’s Program Room. Check our Story Time page for details.

Weekly Programs

Poet's Corner

3 p.m. every Thursday | June 17-July 22 | Children's Program Room

For children ages 8 through 11 | 1 hour sessions

Free | Registration is required

During this six-week workshop children will explore different types of poetry, play word games, and write their own poetry. This poetry workshop is limited to 25 children and online registration begins June 7.

Performers

We have a variety of children’s performers scheduled throughout the summer. Performances are offered free with no advance registration required in the Civic Auditorium. Seating is limited. Two performances are scheduled for each show, the first at 2:30 p.m. and the second at 3:45 p.m. Tickets for the first show will be given out at 2:00 p.m. and tickets for the second show will be given out at 2:30 p.m. View the Children’s Performers page for details.

Información sobre nuestro Programa de Lectura del Verano

Desde el 7 de junio hasta el 24 de julio, niños y jóvenes de todas edades pueden venir a la Biblioteca Pública de Allen para recoger un registro de lectura, o pueden registrarse en línea de su casa. Si su hijo tiene de 0 a 4 años de edad, por favor, venga a la biblioteca para recoger su registro especial.

Hay que devolver el registro a la biblioteca a más tardar el 31 de julio para recibir su premio. Les animamos a todos a leer lo que les interese. El personal del Departmento de Niños y Jóvenes de la Biblioteca también les puede recomendar libros según sus preferencias.
