The emergency response personnel make up the core of the fire department’s ability to serve the City of Allen. All firefighters are highly trained and maintain certifications like the Texas Commission on Fire Fighting Structural Firefighting Certification and the Texas Department of State Health Services Paramedic Certification. The majority of personnel also hold other high level certifications including, Driver Operator Engineer, Fire Officer, Fire Instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, HAZMAT Technician, Trench Rescue Technician, Confined Space Rescue Technician, as well as many other certifications. The emergency response personnel are split into three 24-hour shifts and respond out of four stations.
