A permit is required if you will be digging:
All franchise utility work performed in the public ROW shall obtain any and all required construction permits per local, state and/or federal law. The City of Allen will not accept any operational control as defined in the TCEQ construction general permit TXR150000 for any franchise utility projects performed in the public ROW.
1. Obtain existing utility information from the City of Allen.
2. Submit Construction Permit along with one set of proposed plans that show:
3. Photographs and/or video of the construction area (may be submitted by the Contractor when the approved permit is picked up). These are to show the existing condition of the construction area prior to your work. This request is for your benefit and protection. Without photographs and/or videos of the subject site, it will be assumed that all damage at the construction site is your responsibility.
4. Copies of any permits required from local, state and/or federal law.
5. TPDES Storm Water Regulation - City of Allen requires a copy of the SWP3 and NOI that is approved by the State.
6. Permit will be review by the City of Allen. This usually takes 2 to 3 days for small jobs. Large jobs may take longer. The City of Allen will contact you when the Construction Permit has been approved and is ready for you to pick up.
7. Call 214.509.4583 to schedule line locates at least 48 hours prior to construction. The person calling to schedule the locate should know the permit number when calling. No locates will be scheduled without an approved permit. Locates are done Monday through Friday.
8. A copy of the approved Construction Permit must be kept at the Construction Site during construction
