NPWW, May 19 – 25, recognizes the employees that work behind the scenes to maintain the infrastructure and services collectively known as public works. Public works services include those related to water and sewer distribution, roadway, park and building maintenance, trash and recycling collection, and other types of services that support infrastructure that the nation depends upon on a daily basis. Most of the city’s public works services are provided through the Community Services Department.
