Elected as Councilmember, Place No. 2 in 2002, Councilmember Obermeyer was reelected in 2005 and 2008.
Councilmember Obermeyer and his wife, Marilee, have been residents of Allen since 1976. They have two sons, a daughter, and three grandchildren.
Councilmember Obermeyer is a retired executive from Texas Instruments.
Serves as Council Representative to the following:
- Allen Community Development Corporation (2009-Present)
- Council Liaison, North Texas Municipal Water District
- Council Liaison, Arts of Collin County (2008-Present)
- Allen Parks Foundation Board (2002-Present)
