At a recent workshop meeting, Allen City Council was presented the concept drawings for the reconstruction of the 30-year old Fire Station #2 facility, located on Exchange Parkway in East Allen.
The new fire station will be reconstructed on its current site location and designed to house up to 10 personnel, both men and women, be ADA accessible, and have three bays to accommodate current emergency vehicle dimensions. It will also reflect current architectural trends as well as include landscape improvements adhering to water conservation efforts.
In March 2014, City Council approved VAI Architects to complete the design, which is expected to be finished in February, 2015. Construction is anticipated to begin later that spring with completion in 2016.
