Keep Allen Beautiful (KAB) relies on volunteers and community groups to plan, organize and participate in various programs. If you are interested in volunteering, please call 214.509.4555.

The Community Services Department offers public education on environmental programs and provides staff support to the Keep Allen Beautiful board.

Volunteers are needed year round to participate in various public education events as support. Volunteering for the City of Allen and Keep Allen Beautiful is a wonderful opportunity for those interested in the environment and students seeking scholarship opportunities. We offer various volunteer opportunities including events and office work. We work with students, adults, and local community groups.

How to Join Our Volunteer Program

We keep a database of volunteers of all ages for events throughout the year. We keep in contact with our volunteers through a mailing list. Each volunteer that joins the program will need to submit a legal and media release form prior to participating in an event.

Current Event Registration


The Educator Expo is an event offering free educational resources to Educators in Allen area. We need help working in the office approximately 1 week prior to the event during prep week then need 6-8 to assist on the day of the event.

  • Prep Week: Volunteers are need to help prepare gift baskets, stuff envelopes, and prepare information packets. Dates: Wednesday - Friday, September 22, 23, and 24 at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, TX 75013 
  • Event: Volunteers are needed to check in visitors at the registration table (4), operate information booths (4), photographer (1), and run the snack table (2). Dates: Tuesday, September 27 at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, TX 75013 from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to staff the Chemical Reuse Center. Allen collects household chemicals that would have either ended up in the landfill or improperly disposed of by residents then offers them for free at the Allen Chemical Reuse Center (think mini home depot). 

Volunteers are needed to greet residents and process paperwork.

  • Hours of Operation
    • Thursday: Noon to 2 p.m.
    • 1st & 3rd Saturday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This assignment is ideal for someone who can come out Saturdays twice a month. Spaced is limited accepted. Register here to volunteer.

Volunteers are needed to assist in Keep Allen Beautiful special programs at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, TX 75013. Set your own schedule. Hours available: Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Allen Garden Club, Collin County Master Gardners, and Keep Allen Beautiful are in need of volunteers to plant a garden for National Planting Day. To participate, just show up at the location. Bring work gloves. 

Location: I-House and St. Marry Church at Allen Heritage Village across from the Allen Senior Center, 450 St. Mary Drive.
Date: Saturday, October 1,  2016 at 8:30 am


Allen Recycles Day is Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 7:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Forty (40) volunteers will be needed to run the event. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED AT THIS TIME.
